Part of Warwick Words History Festival, 3-9 October 2022

Poacher’s Pocket and Friends are delighted to invite you to an evening of songs old and new.

The theme this year is one that you will know well! The world of work. Through song, they will explore working lives in the past and in the present. There will be songs about ways of life that are long gone, as well as songs about life now. They will, in the main, be about legal, gainful employment; but there will also be songs about more dubious ways of making a living!

The evening will be hosted by Poacher’s Pocket – Campbell PerryColin Squire, and Carole Gillespie – a local folk group, performing in clubs in the Midland area. They sing songs traditional and contemporary and some self-penned songs about the history of their own families. They will be joined by other local performers, who also appear at clubs and festivals in the area.

There will be songs from the high seas, songs from the countryside and songs from underground. Songs to make you laugh and songs to make you think about our working lives past and present.

Come along and enjoy an evening of history through song – just sit and listen or join in with the choruses!

Tickets £8.00 – book on https://warwickdc.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/shows/1173628435
