Part of Warwick Words History Festival, 1-8 October 2023
Poacher’s Pocket and Friends are delighted to invite you to an evening of songs old and new, telling of daily life in the past and in the present day. Poacher’s Pocket – Campbell Perry, Colin Squire and Carole Gillespie – is a local folk trio performing in clubs in the Midland area, singing a mixture of traditional, contemporary and self-penned songs about people’s lives and local or national events. Most songs are about lawful employment but there may also be songs about more dubious ways of making a living! Poacher’s Pocket will be joined for the evening by other performers on the local folk scene.
This evening will also see the launch of a project for the people of Coventry and Warwickshire to write their own songs about their personal work experiences, past or present, with the support of local songwriters, for performances next year.
Tickets £8.00
