Godiva Calls is a competition for a spot on the main stage of the Godiva Festival. There are several categories and we have entered the “Alternative” category. People are able to vote for their favourite act along with judges on the night and need to arrive on time to register to vote.
“In order to be able to register to vote members of the public must arrive before the first band starts at 7:30pm. Entrance is £3 per person.
Tokens will be given out to each person as they pay in on the door. These will be exchanged for vote slips after the last band has finished.
Voters will vote for two of their favourite acts – two points are awarded for each 1st choice vote and one point will be awarded for each 2nd choice vote. Vote slips will be invalid if they don’t vote for TWO bands (1st choice mark ‘1’ – 2nd choice mark ‘2’)
Judges will have 5 points for their second choice and 10 points for their first choice. The two bands with the most points will be entered into the final.”
