Rodney Branigan – House Concert @ Ryepiece Barn House Concert
May 17 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

About 5 years ago I was looking at the line up for a festival based around Songs from the Shed, which Tom Robinson had put together.  One song became a real ear worm. It’s been on my rolling Spotify playlist ever since. It was North in Outer Space by Rodney Branigan. Then a few weeks ago we got an email asking if Rodney could do a concert at Ryepiece as part of his 2024 UK tour. Well of course!

Doors open 7:15pm for 8pm start. A veggie meal is included in your ticket price. Bring a bottle and a glass and get ready for the most intimate of live concerts

Ma Polaine’s Great Decline – House Concert @ Ryepiece Barn House Concert
Oct 4 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Perfect for Ryepiece, Ma Polaine’s Great Decline are genre defying. A little bit bluesy, a little bit jazzy and with a hint of folk. The final mix is wonderful and a sound that is their own. Beth and Clinton both grew up with jazz, blues and soul, using those influences and a love for individuality to write songs that are simultaneously dark and light, featuring Beth’s effortlessly distinctive vocals and evocative lyrics, coupled with Clinton’s understated guitar style.

Doors open 7:15pm for 8pm start. A veggie meal is included in your ticket price. Bring a bottle and a glass and get ready for the most intimate of live concerts

Gerard Cousins – House Concert @ Ryepiece Barn House Concert
Nov 8 @ 7:15 pm – 10:00 pm

Gerard Cousins was the first guitarist to successfully create guitar versions of Philip Glass’s piano music and was invited to release his recording on Glass’s own record label – Orange Mountain Music. The album was featured on the front page of Apple Music and has currently been streamed well over a million times. Gerard followed this up with an EP of transcriptions of Grammy award winning choral composer Eric Whitacre which has also been received with great acclaim and has was playlisted on Classic FM.

France Musique and BBC Radio have dedicated whole programmes to Gerard’s guitar playing. Gerard also appeared on TV as a finalist on Sky Arts ‘Guitar Star’.

Gerard Cousins offers a classical guitar concert with a difference: His unique repertoire, audience interaction and sense of improvisation has seen him widen the appeal of the nylon strung guitar.

His imaginative guitar arrangements of pieces by composers such as Philip Glass, Eric Whitacre and Arvo Part as well as his own compositions have seen his music spread to the mainstream.

Veggie food included in the ticket price. Bring your own drink and glass and experience the best way to listen to live music.
