annA rydeR’s Music and Moving Picture Show @ Temperance Cafe
Oct 25 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm

annA rydeR’s Music & Moving Picture Tour ( 2022)

A music and moving imagery show – annA rydeR sings her songs with the exciting extra dimension of moving pictures : entertaining and atmospheric films made over the last two years in collaboration with artist Nicky Cure.

A mix of stop-motion, annA’s hand-drawn cartoons, Nicky’s art and real-life images and films – this will reflect annA’s diverse styles in her variety of songs. Some relate directly to the songs and others are atmospheric or curious or just there.

AUDIENCE QUOTE FOR THIS SHOW:

“Such a brilliant show, so immersive, emotive but quirky, the films were absolutely awesome and made it so different to anything I’ve seen before, they really pull you in, there’s so much captured in the moving images and it is honest, and deeply moving, but still light-hearted, silly and fun, in all my years and travels, I’ve never seen anything quite like it! I haven’t stopped talking about it!”

Ric Sanders and Vo Fletcher with guest annA rydeR @ Temperance Café
Nov 9 @ 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Fairport Convention’s Ric Sanders is one of England’s most versatile fiddle players, whilst guitarist and vocalist Vo Fletcher has composed, performed and recorded a wide variety of musical styles with artistes as diverse as Nigel Kennedy, Touch & Go, Catherine Howe, Rik Mayall & Fairport Convention.

Ric has also worked in a diverse range of musical genres. He played experimental rock with Stomu Yamash’ta and the Red Buddha Theatre and Soft Machine. His interests in British folk music were strengthened during a stint with Ashley Hutching’s Albion Band, a group that also included several musicians who had played with Fairport Convention.

Ric joined the Fairport line-up in 1985 and 35 years later he remains an integral part of Fairport’s evolving sound.

Over the last few years they’ve taken a different direction, reconnecting with the music closest to their hearts. It’s music firmly rooted in the blues. They love playing it, and audience feedback from their recent performances have shown just how much people love hearing it.
